Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 2, 2026

The short version

Your step data never leaves your iPhone. Tempolo has no server, no account and no sign-in. We cannot see your steps, your health data or anything about your day, because none of it is ever sent to us.

This policy explains what Tempolo reads, where that data stays, the few things that do leave your device, how long anything is kept, and the rights you have. It covers the Tempolo app for iPhone, its widgets and Live Activity, and the website tempolo.app. Subscriptions and purchases are covered in the Terms of Use; answers to common questions are on the Support page.

Who is responsible

The data controller for Tempolo is the developer of Tempolo, an independent developer based in Türkiye, reachable at support@tempolo.app. That is the address for every request described in this policy.

Two other companies play a part, each under its own privacy policy: Apple, which runs the App Store and handles payment, and RevenueCat, which validates purchases on the developer's behalf. Their roles are described below.

What Tempolo reads, and where it stays

With your permission, Tempolo reads one kind of data: your step count.

Tempolo does not read distance, heart rate, sleep, workouts, location or any other data type, and it never writes anything to the Health app.

All of this is processed and stored on your iPhone, in the app's private storage, which it shares only with its own widgets and Live Activity. Nothing is stored in iCloud. Your settings (daily goal, wake window, notification choice, language, appearance and week start) are kept in the same place.

Your step data is used for one purpose: running the app for you. That means showing where you stand against today's goal, deciding whether a reminder is worth sending (never more than two a day), and drawing the widgets and Live Activity. It is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, never shared, and never analysed for any other purpose.

You can withdraw access at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Health (and Motion & Fitness). Tempolo keeps working with whatever data is still available.

What leaves your device, and what never does

This is the complete list of data that leaves your iPhone because of Tempolo:

And this never leaves your iPhone:

The app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking SDK. The only third-party code in it that connects to the internet is the RevenueCat SDK.

Purchases and RevenueCat

Tempolo PRO is sold on the App Store. Apple handles payment; we never see your name, your payment details or your Apple Account. Prices are shown in the app and on the App Store.

To check that a purchase is valid, and to restore it after a reinstall or on a new iPhone, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription infrastructure service run by RevenueCat, Inc. When the app starts and when you buy or restore, the RevenueCat SDK sends:

Never any step or health data, and never your settings. Legal basis: this processing is necessary to deliver the purchase you made (performance of a contract).

RevenueCat acts as a processor on the developer's behalf. It is contractually required to protect your data to the same or an equal standard as this policy and as the App Store Review Guidelines require, and may not use it for its own purposes. RevenueCat keeps purchase records while your subscription or purchase is active, and afterwards for as long as legal and accounting rules require. RevenueCat's own privacy policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy.

To have your RevenueCat record deleted, e-mail support@tempolo.app; the developer deletes your customer record in RevenueCat. Deleting it does not cancel a subscription; you manage that in your App Store account settings.

Support e-mail

If you write to support@tempolo.app, we receive your e-mail address and whatever you choose to tell us. The app's "Write to us" button pre-fills only the app version and the iOS version, never any health data. Please do not send us step or health data; we do not need it to help you.

Support e-mails are used only to help you, and for nothing else. They are never shared with anyone. They are kept for up to 12 months after the last message in the conversation, then deleted; you can ask for earlier deletion at any time. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you and, where your request concerns a Tempolo PRO purchase, the contract with you.

The support mailbox is hosted by an e-mail provider outside the EU, the UK and Türkiye, so your message is stored with that provider. By writing to us you accept that.

The website

tempolo.app is a static website served by Cloudflare, Inc., our hosting provider. It sets no cookies, runs no scripts, has no analytics, and makes no requests to third parties; its fonts are served from tempolo.app itself. There is nothing on it that needs a consent banner, so there is none.

To deliver the pages and protect the site from abuse, Cloudflare processes the connection data your browser sends: your IP address, browser type (user agent) and the address of the page you requested. This is done on the developer's legitimate interest in running a secure website (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)), and Cloudflare keeps this data only for a short time. We do not build visitor profiles or statistics from it.

How long data is kept, and how to delete it

On your iPhone
Your step data, settings and pace history stay in Tempolo's private storage for as long as the app is installed. Deleting the app deletes all Tempolo data. Your step history in the Health app is untouched; it belongs to you and you control it from the Health app. To stop Tempolo reading new data without deleting the app, withdraw access in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security.
RevenueCat
Purchase records are kept while your subscription or purchase is active, and afterwards for legal and accounting purposes. To have them deleted, e-mail support@tempolo.app.
Support e-mails
Kept for up to 12 months after the last message, then deleted. Ask at any time to have them deleted sooner.
Website connection data
Kept by Cloudflare for a short period for security purposes.
Apple
Your purchase history on the App Store is held by Apple under Apple's privacy policy and is managed from your Apple Account.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to tell you what personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or stop using it, or to give you a copy. Under the EU's GDPR, the UK GDPR and Türkiye's Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK, Article 11) these are legal rights, and we apply them to everyone in the same way.

In practice there is very little to hand over, because the only data we can hold about you is a support conversation, if you started one, and an anonymous purchase record in RevenueCat. Your step data is on your iPhone, where we cannot reach it.

To exercise any of these rights, including a KVKK Article 11 application, e-mail support@tempolo.app. We answer within 30 days. We may need to check that a request comes from the owner of the e-mail address it concerns.

You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority: in the EU, the data protection authority of the country where you live; in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office; in Türkiye, the Personal Data Protection Authority (Kişisel Verileri Koruma Kurumu). You do not have to contact us first, though we would rather hear from you and put things right.

Children

Tempolo is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children. If you believe a child has written to us, e-mail support@tempolo.app and we will delete the message.

Changes to this policy

If we change how Tempolo handles data, we will update this page and the effective date above. A change that would send data off your device would be announced clearly inside the app before it takes effect. The effective date at the top tells you which version you are reading.
